The room, considered as a whole
A lighting plan is more than a list of fixtures.
Begin with how the space is used, how its furniture is arranged and how you want the room to feel from day to evening. The outline below helps you turn inspiration into a practical brief for a product discussion and for your installer.

Build the room brief
The setting
Provide a scaled plan or the room length, width and ceiling height. Mark windows, doors, furniture and the existing electrical points.
The activities
Identify dining, reading, food preparation, work and circulation areas. Think about where focused light is needed and where a softer atmosphere is preferable.
The palette
Share the key materials and finish references. Note whether the fixture should be a focal point or sit quietly within the room.
The practical limits
Include the destination, installation country, any dimming requirements and the measurements or deadlines that cannot change.
Layer the light
-
Ambient
Establish the overall light level with a source or combination suited to the room.
-
Task
Add focused illumination for the surfaces and activities that require it.
-
Accent
Introduce depth and texture with a separate, softer layer that can be used independently.
Turn the idea into a product schedule
List each fixture with its exact link, configuration, quantity and intended location. Compare the full dimensions, overall drop and mounting footprint with the room measurements. Ask about missing specifications before approving a choice.
Our project discussion focuses on products and selected custom possibilities. Structural assessment, wiring design and code compliance remain matters for a qualified installation professional. Drawings, 3D files or new render work are subject to availability and a separately agreed scope where applicable.
